Mystery Blogger Award

This award was originally created by Maggie @okoto enigma

“Mystery blogger award” is an award for amazing bloggers with ingenious posts. Their blog not only captivates; it inspires and motivates. They are one of the best out there, and they deserve every recognition they get. This award is also for bloggers who find fun and inspiration in blogging, and they do it with so much love and passion.

I was nominated by Stephanie and Dani, these amazing two girls with unbelievable personalities and blogs to reflect them. Check them out!

The Rules:

  • Put the award logo/image in your post.
  • List all the rules.
  • Thank whoever nominated you and leave a link to their blog.
  • Tell your readers 3 things about yourself.
  • Nominate 10-20 people and notify them.
  •  Link back to the creator of the award. (Okoto Enigma)
  • Ask nominees any 5 questions of your choice, with a weird or funny question.
  • Share the link to your best/favorite post of yours.

3 Things about myself:

  • I just started a new paint-by-numbers painting, and to make myself even more frustrated, I picked Night Cafe by Van Gogh. Why did nobody warn me what a bad idea it was for a girl, who already has no free time to speak of?
  • I am currently in a planning stages of going to Ed Sheeran’s concert in Europe next year, having my passport made and everything. Who wants to be my travelng buddy?
  • Yeah, uhm. this is imbarassing but I spent half last night picking out karaoke songs I don’t totally suck at. I’m that girl, shoot me now.

Stephanie’s Questions:

    1. What is one thing that is on your bucket list (or thing you really want to do in your lifetime)?

I want to have a road trip acros Europe in a car with a guy I love (whoever he might be), blasting music and lots of food.

2. How would you describe yourself in a few words?

Simple. Opinionated. Clums. Forgiving. Introverted. Friendly. Beautiful. Because we all are.

3. What is your favorite book genre? Your least favorite?

Many genres are very often found on my shelves but the ones I gravitate most to is fantasy and paranormal. I guess I choose to believe that there’s still magic in our world, that even if we don’t see it, it’s still there. In old books, lost languages, forgotten places and sometimes even in ourselves. Call me a romantic if you want, I call it common sense.

4. Describe the perfect relaxing evening.

A glass of wine, a book, sea breeze lowing through my window. What could be better?

 5. What is your guiltiest pleasure?

I don’t feel guilt over my pleasures, life’s too short to bother with absurdities like that. If it brings you joy, a smile to your face, a tingle to sertain places then just endulge yourself. Why should you feel guilty about it?

Dani’s Questions

  • Why did you choose your current blog name?

Because when I thought about what I wanted to right about – it just clicked. I love books and I love music and they always go hand in hand for me. And as they both have words, and words in songs called lyrics it made sense for me.

  • What is your favorite book?

That’s like asking wich of your children do you love most. Are you crazy? I can’t name just one.

  • What is your favorite thing to do, besides reading:)?

Singing. Mostly to myself, in the car, in the shower. Whith a friend when we hear the song we both like. It’s freeing somehow, I can’t describe it.

  • If you could change anything about this World what would it be?

I’d make it a matriarchal society, because yeah we could be bitchy and mean and selfish, but women are also above all nurturing and we would treat the world very differently then it is being treated right now.

  • What was the last book you read?

The Red by Tiffany Reisz

I couldn’t decide how to feel about this book once I started reading it, it went from here to there and messed with my head too much. But I just have to say that this author has some kind of hold on her readers, it’s never simple with her and I love it.

My Questions:

  1. Do you have a song that makes you cry every time you hear it?
  2. What’s your favorite time of the day and why?
  3. Name one place you always wanted to go but never did.
  4. Do you have a favorite piece of food that you can never say no to, no matter how full you are?
  5. Who from your family you feel most connected to?

My favorite post by me:

Ok, guys! I’m hopelessly behind on this award and others too so I won’t be tagging anyone, because everyone already done it. But if you didn’t then go right ahead and tell us all your dirty secrets. We’re not a judgy bunch))

collage (2).jpg

I was nominated by Mischenko for the this great Sunshine Blogger Award and I’d like to thank her for nominating me. Please check out Mischenko’s blog. You will find a lot of amazing book and movies reviews, a great taste of music she share with all of us and a lot of pet love.

What is the Sunshine Blogger Award?

The Sunshine Blogger Award is given to those who are creative, positive and inspiring, while spreading sunshine to the blogging community.

How Does It Work:

  • Thank the person(s) who nominated you in a blog post and link back to their blog
  • Answer the 11 questions sent by the person who nominated you
  • Nominate 11 new blogs to receive the award and write them 11 new questions
  • List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo on your post and/or on your blog

Mischenko’s Questions:

Is there something you can tell readers about yourself and your blog?

Let’s see, I’m a big child who believes people to be better than they are, but when faced with reality prefers to live in her happy bubble. That’s why I read so much, and that’s why I have this blog I guess, to share my happy bubble with people who want it or need it.

What satisfaction do you get from blogging?

I get to vent and not filter my words. I get to choose what I want to write about and what I share, it’s really amazing how people can connect through a platform like this.

How do you bring traffic to your blog?

Traffic? I just started doing this like a couple months ago, I don’t know what I’m doing still ))

What’s something that you’d like to improve on this year?

Hmmm, do I have to improve something? As far as I’m concerned, everything is pretty good.

How do you get motivated to blog?

It’s not the motivation, it’s time I’m lacking at the moment. I have so much tags I’m behind on, it’s getting awkward.

Do you have any favorite books this year?

Hell, yes! The whole ACOTAR and Hidden Legacy series. They were amazing surprises.

The Hooker and the Hermit (Rugby, #1)Take Me with YouBlack Swan AffairBlade Bound (Chicagoland Vampires, #13)Punk 57The Bourbon Thief

Are there any songs you’re into right now, or music artists?

There’s always songs I’m into, at any given moment. Right now it’s:

What do you like to do with your spare time?

Read, watch tv, go to the movies with friends, annoy my cat, sing along at the top of my lungs to my favorite songs.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I like surprises, so we’ll see.

If you could choose ONLY 5 subjects to read on other blogs, what would they be? (Books, music, film, health, etc.)

Books, music, film, tv, travel.

Do you make money from your blog? If not, do you have plans to try in the future?

Nuh! But wait till I get like half a million subscribers and then I’ll be swimming in dough ;D

My Nominees:

Some of you may have done this tag already but I mentioned you anyway, so you know I thought of you.

These questions are very good and I’m feeling lazy today so just use them, ok?

Thanks for reading and have a good week! Cheers!

A week without Chester

It’s now been a week since the news hit the radio about Chester Bennington dying. This whole week I dedicated to only listening to Linkin Park when I get the chance as a way to pay my respects to a band I loved since middle school. At home, in the car to and from work, sometimes at work, every song from every album. Today, as LP was playing on shuffle, it got to the track Leave out all the Rest and as I was listening to the lyrics, it hit me how relevant they became right now, how freakishly prophetic, even though they were written more than eight years ago.

When my time comes
Forget the wrong that I’ve done
Help me leave behind some
Reasons to be missed
Don’t resent me
And when you’re feeling empty
Keep me in your memory
Leave out all the rest

I won’t ever presume to know what was happening with Chester at the time of his death, but one thing I know for sure – he left a lot of reasons to be missed by a lot of people.

RIP Chester

My Q&A

If you never had to sleep in your whole life, what would you do with all that extra time?

Besides reading? I would learn how to bake, ’cause who doesn’t love cakes, muffins, cookies and all this sugary goodness? At this time I can’t even make the dough rise.

What fictional place would most like to visit?

Hogwards, duh! I’d want the whole tour too, from the train station to all the secret chambers and stuff.

What’s your favorite genre of music, or your favorite band?

I really don’t have one favorite genre. I like it all. Depending on the mood I’m in it could be anything and anyone, from Aaliyah to Manson to DNCE.

What’s your favorite song right now?

It’s a new one each week. Right now it’s At My Best by MGK feat. Hailee Steinfeld.

What’s your favorite book you’ve read this year?

A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas. The first one was good and I liked it too, but this one was EPIC! I’m honestly floored at how much I love this series after I’ve tried evading it for so long.

Are you an early riser or do you like to sleep in?

Early riser? Nooooooooooo. No one can accuse me of being that, especially my family. They love making fun of me too much.

What’s your favorite childhood book or fairytale?

I had a Fairy Tales book by Alexander Pushkin when I was a kid. I think I loved it the most. It had the best stories and ilustrations were just the bomb.

What’s most likely to send you off on a rant?

I honestly can’t think of anything at this time. Chill is me ;P

What’s the farthest you’ve ever been from home?

I need to consult a map for that. One sec….

That would be Dominican Republic. Best beach vacation ever!

What is something that a ton of people are obsessed with but you just don’t get the point of?

Twitter. Any social media really, but Twitter is the most weird one. I tried it and tried it and tried again and it still doesn’t stick with me. Sure, it might be great for celebrities getting in touch with their fanbase, or whatever, for normal people though? I’m just not that interested in what some random stranger eats for breakfast.

Would you rather have an evening out, or a night in?

50/50. I stay home most nights, but I love to go out sometimes too. Movies, bars, karaoke, quests I enjoy. Clubs – not so much.

My Nominees:

  1. This is Lit
  2. A Romance Bibliophile
  3. The Girl Who Read Too Much
  4. Darque Dreamer Reads
  5. Panic at the Bookstore
  6. Journey to the Heart of Love
  7. The Mystique Reader
  9. Little Fears
  10. Book ★ Bastion

Questions for nominees:

  1. If you had a choice between writing a book or being the main character in a book, what would you choose?
  2. If you had to paint your bedroom just one color without being able to change it ever again, what color would it be?
  3. You have a day and unlimited funds. What do you do?
  4. Would you rather meet your favorite musician or your favorite author?
  5. If you could travel back in time to change just one thing, would it be something personal or something that could effect the whole world?
  6. What invention you would like to live long enough to see in the future?
  7. What is your favorite place to go with friends?
  8. What is your favorite place to go alone?

Thanks for reading!

Anything But Books TAG

My first TAG, yay! I was taged by Nell at Reactionary Tales. Her blog is full of books, photos, poems and thoughts on different matters. You should check it out if you haven’t yet, it’s pretty awesome. And I’m sure she won’t mind you following it.

Note: The image used for the Feature Image is not my creation! It’s been spread around for some time, but I’m preety positive it belongs to another blogger; The Girl Who Read Too Much book blog.

One: Name a cartoon that you love

I honestly haven’t watched that many lately, but when I was a kid I had two cartoons I would watch religiously. Sailor Moon and Scooby Doo.

Картинки по запросу sailor moon gifКартинки по запросу scooby doo gif

I think I was crushing on Sailor Moon’s guys more than anything else and Scooby was just hilarious.

Two: What is your favorite song right now?

I wasn’t aware of this band until a couple of months ago and this song was the first I heard of theirs. It still makes me feel all emotional, it doesn’t hurt that the voice of their vocalist is like sin on stick.

Three: What could you do for hours that isn’t reading?

Binge watch, definitely. I’m on season 3 of Breaking Bad, then I have latest season of House of Cards, and then second season of Sense8. Believe me, that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Four: What is something that you love to do that your followers would be surprised by?

Paint by numbers. I’m a freak with those. You can give me a box and not hear from me for a while. Nifty trick if you wan’t to get rid of me for whatever reason.

Five: What is your favorite unnecessarily specific thing to learn about?

I like to learn about ancient myphs and legends. In high school and colledge I was fascinated with Egypt and Greek myphology. All the gods and bastions are still so misterious and awesome.

Six: What is something unusual that you know how to do?

I have mad skills with a screwdriver. Anything that needs fixing or assambling – I’m your girl. And I mean anything.

Seven: Name something you made in the last year and show us if you can.

Made myself a jewelry shelf for all the shiny stuff. Very proud of myself.

Eight: What is your most recent personal project?

This blog, I finally talked myself into doing it. Glad I did, met a few incredible people here, now if only I had a little more time to throw myself fully in. Time is always running away from me.

Nine: Tell us something that you think about often?

I think about my country (Ukraine) being in total shitstorm right now, without any end in sight. I think about my friends and family not being able to visit each other like normal people. I think about how untrustworthy the media around it all is. I think about how much I don’t want to talk about it with anyone outside my circle of people, because of how polarizing the issue is. I think about the books I read being my little bubble of happiness and joy, it’s how I unwind. Jeez, that was heavy. Sorry, guys.

Eleven: Say the first thing that pops into your head.

Ice cream. I’ll go get some.

Tag! You’re it! Thanks for reading. Join in the fun and tag your friends. I tag everyone, because I don’t know who haven’t done this TAG yet. Cheers.

Review: Rock Chick Revenge

Rock Chick RevengeRock Chick Revenge by Kristen Ashley

My rating: 4.5 of 5 stars

Song: George Thorogood & The Destroyers – Bad To The Bone

“This family doesn’t do Starbucks.”

If I had a Fortnum’s in my city, I wouldn’t want a Starbucks either. As it stands, I don’t have either and that’s way worse for a coffee junkie like me. Oh, what I wouldn’t give for one of Tex’s masterpieces. Seriously, though, Fortnum’s is like my dream destination. All the best shit happens there. All the drama. And each time Duke says “Oh, shit! Here we go again”, I’m like…

Now this is why I loved this book:

1. Luke (pretty self explanatory).

I didn’t find any guys with eyes worthy of Luke, so I made do

2. Childhood friends to lovers romance (my favourite kind, yay!).
3. Wicked sisters smackdown (albeit a verbal one).
4. I think it’s about time these guys had some kind of competition (however really nonexistent).
5. Ren (just because yum).
6. Luke + cuffs = you get my drift, right?

And anyway, you just have to believe in dreams and destiny when a girl gets a guy she’s been in love with since eight years old. Especially if that guy is a Badass Motherfucker like Luke and a girl is used to reffering to herself as a Fatty Fatty Four-Eyes. Not that she is anymore, cudos to Ava for getting her cookies in check.

As for the story, it’s business as usual. Ex douchebags, kidnappings, car theft, car chases, car explotions, lots of mayhem, parties, and lots of sex. Just like Rock Chicks like it. Poor boys.

“Jesus Christ,” he muttered to the ceiling. “All those times I sat in the office and laughed my ass off at stories of Lee, Eddie, Hank and Vance. They should have fuckin’ medals.”

Over and out
