That’s it. Ilona Andrews ruined romance for me and I mean it in the best possible way. How, how can I read normal romance books after this? It’s like having lived your whole life on Godiva chocolate just to then be forced to eat the old forgotten bar of some cheap stuff sold at the gas stations.
So we finally meet Roland. Gotta say, though, he’s exactly like I pictured him. Powerful, ornery, definitely delusional if he thinks Kate will roll over and join him in his cause. Shows how well he knows his daughter. I’d give a man one last chance, he’s kind of stuck in his ways after 5 thousand years, but if he messes up in the next book I’ll throw my full support behind Kate’s sword. You can only forgive so much, you know?
Side note: Ghastek’s reaction to finding out who Kate is was amazing. Poor man must have had an aneurysm.
Over and out
