Book review: Tower of Dawn (Throne of Glass, #6)

Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. MaasTower of Dawn by Sarah J. Maas

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Song: Flyleaf – Arise

Hmm, so that wasn’t what I expected, or wanted for that matter. After the whirlwind of The Empire of Storms to be plunged into this? Felt like a massive letdown. I’m not talking about the story itself, I’m talking about the focus of it. Chaol, really?

Me, once I realized there was no Aelin in the book…

The only thing that saved me from boredom reading this were parts about Nesryn and Sartaq. That Borte girl is awesome. And Yrene. Yrene was a badass in her own way. So why am I mad? Because all that didn’t warrant taking focus away from Aelin and her journey. I would have been ok if Chaol’s chapters were interspersed with Aelin’s but to take the protagonist of the series out of it completely was hurtful to me, especially after THAT ending in EoS.

I get it, I do. We needed to find out all the crazy stuff hidden in the Antica so we could move on to the final battle, and yet I’m still pissed that we weren’t allowed even little glimpses into what the main crew was up to.

I don’t know how I’ll be able to wait until the final book is released after this. I really don’t. It’ll be a looong loooooong wait.

Over and out
