Song: Killer Queen by Queen
“A lot of women have trouble with their mothers-in-law.”
Raphael’s look was priceless. “My mother is an insane archangel.”
And that’s that in a nutshell. I mean aside from otherworldly power and a questionable thereness of a few bolts and screws, this could probably be a tale of a normal first meeting between a girl and her guy’s mother. I can’t remember it ever going well, but maybe that’s just me.
In other news, Lijuan is still creepy as hell and I first desided to like her but then MY sanity kicked in and said “You’re weird”, so I changed my mind. I like my sanity very much, I don’t want it giving up on me.
Oh, and there’s a butler. A butler, people! To make things better he’s even cool and didn’t even kill anyone. Yet.
“it seems Montgomery could not help himself when it came to this vase. I’m afraid he has a weakness for beautiful things and has been known to relocate an item if he feels it is not being accorded the proper appreciation. Once, he ‘relocated’ an ancient sculpture from the home of another archangel.”
This book dealt with a lot of stuff from Elena and Raphael’s past. As it turns out, they have a few things in common if you really look at it. Sure if you forget about the millenium age difference and a slightly different upbringing. Both of them still have a hope that their parents will one day be there for them. The jury is still out on that one but I’m not holding my breath.
Did I mention that there was a training session involving Illium and Venom? Yum! I’m talking explicit details and a lot of swooning on my part.
They broke apart to glance at her, chests heaving – two half-naked males covered in sweat and holding wicked-sharp blades by their sides. Illium was beautiful, Venom so other as to be strangely compelling. Together, she thought with one part of her mind, they created a damn nice view. Sara would call them eminently lickable.
Jilly and I already took Illium and Aodhan for ourselves but you can have your pick of other delicious males from the series.
Over and out
